Plan uptime before the truck ships
Refuse compactor trucks combine a commercial chassis with a hydraulic working body. Maintenance planning must cover both systems. The handover file should separate chassis service items from compactor-body parts and identify the correct part numbers for the approved configuration.
Build a daily and weekly inspection routine
Check hydraulic leaks, hoses and cylinder rods
Inspect tailgate locks, seals and leachate points
Clean the hopper and monitor abnormal material build-up
Test emergency stops, warning devices and cameras
Lubricate specified pins and pivots
Record unusual noise, slow cycles and fluid temperature
Protect hydraulic cleanliness
Contaminated oil can damage pumps, valves and cylinders. Use the specified fluid, clean filling equipment and replacement filters. Workshop staff should understand sampling, storage and hose-replacement practices before the vehicle enters full-time service.
Choose the first spare-parts package
The package should reflect working hours, route severity and local lead times. Typical discussions cover filters, seals, hoses, sensors, switches, relays, lights, pins, bushes and lifter wear items. Chassis consumables must match the final engine and axle specification.
Keep service information with the fleet
Store English manuals, wiring and hydraulic diagrams, part numbers, maintenance intervals and commissioning records in a location accessible to the fleet manager and workshop.
